The city has installed a device that allows people with reduced mobility to swim easily. A Swiss first.
Thanks to a submersible mobile ramp and a motorized seat, this system guarantees easy and inclusive access to swimming, in complete safety. The inauguration of this installation was held on April 4 at Vidy beach. This project is part of a desire to improve the accessibility of bodies of water and to meet the expectations of the population and tourists in terms of inclusion, says the press release.
The SEATRAC Mover allows users to get into the water without external assistance, via a ramp accessible from a rigid mat on the sand. Already deployed in more than 250 sites around the world, and having facilitated more than 500,000 uses since its launch in 2012, this device is coming to Switzerland for the first time.
Installé en moins de 15 minutes
Easy to install in less than 15 minutes, the SEATRAC Mover features an ergonomic seat, remote control and self-diagnostic system for remote troubleshooting. Its operation is based on solar power supply, ensuring environmentally friendly integration, without permanent construction on the beach.
Fully mobile, it can be removed quickly without the need for intervention in the water, an ideal solution for sites subject to changing weather conditions. In addition to the SEATRAC Mover, the facilities include a changing room adapted for people with reduced mobility, a shower and a public toilet in the immediate vicinity.
